The exciting race weekend in Indianapolis ended triumphantly for Ferrari with Michael Schumacher winning his 87th Formula One victory and teammate Felipe Massa coming in second to complete a Ferrari one-two. Fueled by Shell V-Power and confident on the track, Schumacher secured his third pole of the season and Massa comfortably took grid position just behind his teammate.

"For us at Shell, it has been the best result of the season so far," said Mike Copson, Shell Technical Manager. "Bearing in mind the track in Indy is notoriously hard on the engines, the temperatures are incredibly hot and this was the second race weekend for both Ferrari engines, the Shell fuel and lubes behaved faultlessly."

With an ongoing relationship since the 1920s, Shell has built a historic technical partnership with Ferrari by powering and protecting Ferrari's road cars and Formula One racing operations with Shell lubricants and Shell V-Power fuels. Shell has shown that all fuels are not the same by helping lead Ferrari to six FIA Constructors' World Championship titles since 1996. Shell and Ferrari have worked closely throughout the partnership as a team of 40 engineers, chemists and technicians work together at each Grand Prix circuit, as well as the Ferrari factory and at Shell facilities in the United Kingdom and Germany.

One of the major benefits of this close working relationship is that many of the advances made on the track feed the development of products for the road. This partnership is a testament to Shell's commitment to provide customers with world-class lubricants and fuels, both now and into the future.
