Now motorcycle enthusiasts have access to a new, online interactive tool that will simplify their cross-country road trip planning. Due to the inclusion of all 14,000 U.S. Shell-branded stations on Harley-Davidson Ride Planner version 2.0, riders can create custom maps of their trip routes that include Shell stations along the way in addition to authorized Harley-Davidson dealers. Ride Planner 2.0 at www.harley-davidson.com also offers riders an aerial view of Shell stations and their surroundings prior to the trip.
While Ride Planner 2.0 is currently in use, widespread use is anticipated for the Harley-Davidson Ride Home to the 105 th Anniversary Celebration. Knowing where to fill up with the quality premium gasoline recommended for Harley-Davidson motorcycles adds a level of certainty and enjoyment by ensuring riders can make it to their destination without running out of gasoline. To see the Ride Home 105 official starting points or to create a personalized trip starting from their own garage, riders can visit the Ride Planner site at http://www.harley-davidson.com/rideplanner.
Ride Planner 2.0 is easier to use than a traditional map because it offers multiple interactive methods to create and edit a ride plan. New, dynamic locations along each route, satellite imagery and highlighted points of interest make trip planning that much more enjoyable. Motorcyclists – and motorists as well – who are looking for specific route suggestions should be sure to check out the roads overlay feature that presents highlighted routes on the map with an overview, rating and reviews by other riders.
